Woke this morning to a beautiful sunny, brisk day, Snow on the ground, slight breeze. Perfect.
Boys had breaky around 8.30 and we got underway at 10.00.
Thought we had three vans and a car in convoy but the parents bus with Muz driving decided to do their own thing. Only reason for doing this was that Mrs Sullivan forgot her sunnies and they were left behind.
We made the venue in North Augusta by 2.00 for our 3.00 game.
We played Silver Bluff High School Bulldogs in a thriller. We started slowly but by half time we were only down by 1. 27 - 26. A great third quarter saw us up 36 - 40. The final quarter was backwards and forwards with the game going basket for basket. In the final 6 seconds with the scores locked at 54 all one of the officials pulled the biggest home game fouls out of his clacker you've ever seen. Down by one as their guard made his first free throw.
Seriously though, the foul was probably there and they hit the shot. Early missed free throws hurt along with our lack of offensive and defensive boards. The boys to their credit, with limited sleep, average food and lots of driving played well and entertained the large crowd all game.
After many attempts to find somewhere to eat, we found a great little Mexican restaurant. We all enjoyed nice food and lots of fun.
We'll probably do a spot of shopping in the morning and visit Augusta National Golf Course. The home of the USA Masters.
Games tomorrow are about 6.00.
All in all, we've packed a lot into the first two days with all the boys having a good time.
See you tomorrow.
Hilly
Thanks Craig for the update. Boys did well under the circumstances. Nice to see Bec drinking her alcoholic bevvies from a glass, although looked like the size of a bucket! Muz pleeaasse get rid of the 70's porno mo. Giving Oz a bad rep. Good luck to the boys in the next round. Hi Liam, hope you are having a good one!! Amanda and Keith
